The mission

Build an ASL dictionary that respects the community it's meant to serve.

We're a small, independent team. We're not a big AI company. We love sign language and the culture behind it, and we want to help — humbly, slowly, and honestly. If any of this goes sideways, we'd rather hear it from you early than find out on the internet. We pay signers. Corrections are always welcome.

Reference-first

We do not copy Lifeprint lessons or embed restricted third-party media. Every word links out to the signers and authorities who know it best.

Deaf-led

Authored entries ship only after Deaf review. Any video we produce is either performed by Deaf signers under explicit license, or clearly labeled as learner-created and pending review.

Rights-clean

We track performer role, rights status, review status, and source provenance on every piece of media. Honest labels are non-negotiable.

Open-source scaffolding, licensed content

The code, schema, and reference directory are open. Owned media ships under clear licenses. Third-party sources stay where they live.
